Campfire Puffy Jacket
$206,000+ RAISED ON KICKSTARTER
An outdoor jacket needs to be as light and breathable as possible, even campfire-proof ones. We worked with fabric manufacturers to develop a lightweight laminated Nomex® fabric that is fire resistant and waterproof. Nomex® is a naturally fire resistant fiber that is used on everything from the Mars Rover to Flight Suits, from firefighting gear to industrial apparel that is now making its way to the outdoor industry. Finally a jacket that won't melt around the campfire!
I ordered mine from Kickstarter and just received it today. It’s a lot more comfortable than I thought with so many functional pockets! I don’t go camping much but I love comfortable and functional jackets. If I need to be near a campfire I’m ready! I’m pregnant so I can’t zip it up yet but I’m looking forward to wearing this in the winter and testing out the wind proof function. I’m so glad I backed you guys!
The jacket looks terrific. Since it’s still 90 degrees outside I haven’t yet worn it. My problem isn’t with the jacket, it’s with a smaller me than when I backed the project. Teren folks are great, they want to fulfill the backer orders first then we can figure out the exchange for a smaller version (hope there’s one left).
Sounds like a congratulations is in order for needing a smaller size! Cheers!
Yes, we definitely are on track to take care of you - thanks for the review!
Well haven’t worn it yet as 90 degree weather doesn’t call for a jacket. Fall is just around the corner here. I’m looking forward to wearing it till next late spring. The quality looks good. I like the color orange because I didn’t go with blue my usual choice. It has tons of deep pockets and good working zippers. It’s light weight and fits great; plenty of arm movement. Time will tell as to how it holds up to daily wear. The material appears tough and durable.
When I first ordered this jacket, I definitely ordered it for the features, and just kind of accepted that it would likely not be the most fashionable layer I owned. Totally wrong. The fit is excellent, and the very low profile branding means that the overall aesthetic is clean and sleek. It's warm, has plenty of pockets, and, you know, is basically indestructible.
I haven't set it on fire, but I've worn it once on a trip to Alaska and it looks and feels great! Good stuff!
